Prof. Arjun Prasad Lamichhane, MS
Dear alumni,
It brings me immense pleasure to welcome you to the MMC Alumni Association. This organization will bring together more than 2000 graduates of the campus. The basic goal of this association is to connect you back to your roots.
As I have been an alumnus of the campus myself, I feel that I can also write on the behalf of the alumni. For a long time, I had been looking for a platform to relive and revive the nostalgia of my days as a student of this campus. I think I myself have found the platform I was longing for.
After my schooling from government school in Syangja district, I joined Maharajgunj Medical Campus. It is fair to say that I have spent my golden days at MMC. From early career moulding to professional life, the campus has shaped me into who I am now. My academic career can solely be attributed to the campus.
I joined in the 12th batch of MBBS. I am the 324th MBBS graduate of this campus (my MBBS roll number). I was active as a medical student with my involvements in Nepal Medical Students’ Society (NMSS) as a secretary. After graduation, I rejoined the campus as the first batch of MS in Orthopedics. This program was the first of its kind in Nepal.
Since my early involvements in student societies, I had a deep interest to bring together the students of MMC and IOMites as a whole. Now, with the establishment of MMC Alumni, the dream has been realised.
I feel proud and lucky to get an opportunity to lead my alma mater as a chief. I express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the alumni who took the initiattive and came to this fruitful outcome of alumni association. I hope that you, as the alumnni, will always stand with the alma mater and will be together in academic, research and other activities of MMC. As the campus chief, I want you to be a very close and strong stakeholder of the campus. The campus is eager and waiting the moments to act together and collaborate in the days to come.
